Formigal Ski Resort

On Sunday, I went skiing for the first time! It's almost Wednesday and my calves are still sore, but I'm blaming it on the ski boots and not my being out of shape.
Every year, UNAV takes a schoolwide trip to Formigal Ski Resort, which is on the Pyrenees Mountains. It took us a little over two hours to get there, and almost 800 students went! This is what we saw when we arrived:
We got to the resort around 9 a.m. and had to be back at the buses by 4:30 p.m. So since I've never been skiing before, one of my friends from New York went with me down the bunny hill a few times before lunch, and then afterwards she went to the real slopes and left me with the other beginners. For the rest of the day I was with my two friends from Colombia who had also never been skiing--it was their first time seeing snow in real life!
After lunch we got on one of the ski lifts to the higher points just to look and take pictures (because we definitely weren't about to ski down the mountain!) and I took this video:
I also got these pictures on the way back down. If you look closely in one of them, you can see a little town tucked in the mountains.
Here's a video María took of me skiing down the bunny hill! This was toward the end of the day, so I was pretty comfortable.
That's all folks! Catch me at the next winter Olympics shredding some serious powder. ;)
