Barcelona: Day 4

As Chance the Rapper would say, "and we back!" Today I took a break from running all over the city and just relaxed on the beach.

This was my view while chilling and waiting for a naval tour that I signed up for this afternoon. Of course I couldn't find the port to board the boat, so I missed the tour. However, the lady at the company's kiosk was nice enough to tell me the next one was in about an hour, so I found a bench about 100 feet away (so I wouldn't get lost again) and bought a snack from one of the pop up shops.

After I finished eating, I read the first chapter of Gabrielle Union's book, We're Going to Need More Wine. I'm only about 30 pages in, but I would definitely recommend it. The experiences she shared about trying to fit into two different worlds from childhood to preteen to her teenage years resonated with me because a lot of her emotions were some of the same ones I experienced.

The boat ride was a bit chilly, especially with the wind, but the view was peaceful.

The giant glass building in the bottom left corner is close to where I was sitting in the first picture! Here are a couple of videos from the tour.

The first video was taken from inside the boat, but the second one was right next to the railing. There I met a little family in a funny way: the dad stepped on a net that was separating the boat from the ocean and I, scared for him, told him to be careful and then pointed to a sign next to me saying "don't jump on the net." He responded, "don't jump, but I'm not jumping" and proceeded to lay face down on the net facing the ocean. My eyes were glued to him the entire time because I was worried he might fall into the sea, but one of the employees came out and said it was safe. The reassurance resulted in this:

After the tour I ate dinner at a cozy little restaurant called Tucco Real Food. I hadn't eaten all day besides cereal for breakfast and the waffle before the boat ride, so I ordered two empanadas as an appetizer and beef lasagna. If you guessed I didn't finish it all, you're right. The empanadas, filled with cheese and onions, were the best I've ever had. I could tell they made the dough from scratch and it was crispy in the right places and soft in the others! Sorry to tease, but take a look!

The meal also came with a dessert item, so I picked cream with dulce de leche. After about five bites of the lasagna, I asked the waitress to wrap it up along with the dulce de leche.

That's it for today! Here's a photo of a pretty building near Plaza de Drassanes I took on the way to the beach.

And an oversized, friendly-looking lobster.

¡Hasta mañana!
